D. Eugene Wiley, MD

Dr. Wiley, neurologist Dr. Wiley is a board certified neurologist who has been practicing in the Grand Rapids area since 1975.

Dr. Wiley received his undergraduate degree from the University of Washington in Seattle and his medical degree from the University of Iowa. Dr. Wiley completed his military service duty as a flight surgeon in the United States Air Force at Ellsworth Air Force Base in South Dakota. He completed his internship at Fresno General Hospital in Fresno, California, and his residency in neurology at the University of Iowa.

Dr. Wiley specializes in stroke management, post concussion syndrome and head injuries. Dr. Wiley is the Medical Director of Spectrum Health's Neuro Science services. He has written several patient brochures on the topics of stroke, post concussion syndrome and head injury. He has also written an educational booklet for residents and interns on the topic of neurological localization.

Dr. Wiley is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, Kent County Medical Society, and the Michigan State Medical Society. He is on the active staff at Spectrum Blodgett Hospital.

Leslie A. Neuman, MD

Dr. Neuman, neurologist Dr. Neuman is a board certified neurologist who has been practicing in the Grand Rapids area since 1976.

Dr. Neuman received his undergraduate degree from Washington University in St. Louis and his medical degree from the University of Missouri. He completed a straight medicine internship at the niversity of Iowa and also completed his residency in neurology there. Dr. Neuman served as a Lieutenant Commander in the United States Navy from 1974 to 1976.

Dr. Neuman is on staff at the following institutions:

  • Spectrum Blodgett Hospital
  • Hauenstein Parkinson's Center

Dr. Neuman is a member of American Academy of Neurology, Kent County Medical Society, the Michigan State Medical Society and the American Medical Association.

Dr. Neuman is the recipient of the Mosby Book Award and was medical school class vice-president at the University of Missouri.

Dr. Neuman has special interest in the treatment of Parkinson's disease and related disorders. He is currently the Director of the Hauenstein Parkinson's Center.

Darryl J. Varda, MD

Dr. Varda, neurologist Dr. Varda is a board certified neurologist who has been practicing in the Grand Rapids area since 1978.

Dr. Varda received his undergraduate degree from Cornell College in Mt. Vernon, Iowa, and his medical degree from the University of Iowa in Iowa City. He completed a major medical internship at Blodgett Memorial Medical Center in Grand Rapids and his residency in neurology from the University of Iowa.

Dr. Varda is presently on staff at Spectrum Blodgett.

Dr. Varda is a member of the following professional societies:

  • Fellow of the Academy of Neurology
  • Kent County Medical Society
  • Michigan State Medical Society
  • American Medical Association
  • President, Western Michigan Neurological Society, 1988 to 1992

Dr. Varda has special interest in stroke. Dr. Varda was the Medical Director of the Stroke Team and Chairman of the Neurology Section at St. Mary's Medical Center through 2007.
